If a person works as an employee for an employer and suffers an injury in the course of their employment, then that person may be entitled to what is known as Workers’ Compensation. In other words, if the worker is injured on the job and it is proven that the injury is due to a work accident, that worker will be entitled to certain benefits.
These benefits may include a monetary benefit for the time lost from work due to the injury. Even if the worker is able to work on a part-time basis despite the injury, the worker may be entitled to the difference between the part-time hours and the full-time hours had the injury not occurred. Benefits a worker may be entitled to include permanent partial impairment rating which is calculated based on the physical impairment suffered by the worker and permanent partial disability rating which is calculated using various factors to determine the worker’s permanent partial disability rating.
